We took the kids for a somewhat frigid hike from Chataqua Saturday.  We had enough snacks to keep everything enjoyable despite the slight chill.  Really beautiful out there as always.  The kids enjoyed a nice half mile run down the paved section from the bathroom at the start of the mesa single track.
